- About Us
There have been numerous articles, blogs and pictures of the world’s most amazing watches coming out of Baselworld for the past couple of weeks. Indeed, we at Winsor Bishop have been indulging ourselves on all the releases, and with so many innovative models from our luxury brands it is easy to get excited about the new launches.
We thought it only fitting that we include a photo-blog from our buying team’s trip to Basel, to pass on some of the sights and atmosphere of actually being at the event. A big thank you to Sophie Fulford, Managing Director; Jessica Whitfield, Group Operations Manager; and Richard Peasgood, Commercial Manager for the images.
The stands at Baselworld are totally awe inspiring:
We asked Richard to highlight the two new watch models that caught his eye at the show, and he picked carefully, saying “The Patek Philippe 5960A Chronograph in stainless steel is a great addition to the collection and could become one of the most popular models”.
He also highlighted the Rolex GMT-Master II , “The classic Rolex look combined with the iconic ‘Pepsi dial’ will ensure this is one of the most sort after watches post-Baselworld. Also the new Cellini’s, slightly heavier than the original but still imbued with the timeless elegance we expect of this very desirable range.”
Richard tries on the GMT – this watch is due into store in September 2014.
It’s not just new watch models that Richard enjoys posing with at these events!
Our team were delighted to hear some special news from Omega, as Jessica described “We are very excited that Omega has chosen Winsor Bishop to be their sole agency in Norfolk and we look forward to a stronger than ever partnership between the two companies”
Their faces say it all!
On their return to Norwich Sophie was thrilled with the show, saying “The brands are delivering more and more extraordinary pieces in terms of technical designs, and they are also listening to the market in terms of what customers want to wear and to pay.
“The price points being introduced are sensible, and the use of materials plays an important factor. Tudor, Rolex’s sister brand due to be unveiled in the UK from September and this is a great example of all of these factors rolled into one. We are really excited about the great watches; fantastically made at very competitive price points.
“Jewellery wise, we found some amazing pieces. We are well into building our own collections for delivery later this year, just in time for autumn and Christmas. They will be quite contemporary and very wearable. We have looked for a lot of rose gold in our designs as there is more and more demand for it, and we’ve also been buying styles to satisfy the growing demand from our Chinese customers. Prices of these collections will be between £500 – £4000. Watch this space!”
