This is Amber’s proposal story, its about a lovely couple that met when they were 15, got through long distance when at University and then got engaged on a city break to Barcelona.

“HI! Following my recent post I wanted to share our engagement story with you! My partner bought  my beautiful ring from your Norwich store and can’t rate your customer service highly enough!

My fiancé and I started dating in high school, we were only 15. We overcame many obstacles in our teens, the main one being going long distance whilst I was at University.

When I was about to finish University in 2016, we went on a city break to Barcelona to celebrate our 6th anniversary together. Michael was planning to propose on our last day there. He had asked my Dad for permission on a fishing trip (who was touched that he asked, and of course said yes ) and enlisted one of my closest friends to help him select a ring- these were the only 2 people who knew we was going to propose!

He had been carrying the ring around, waiting for the last day… but then on the second day, I received a phone call to tell me that I had been unsuccessful at a job interview back home. I was devastated as due to the nature of my job, this was the only position available in the area.

Despite being sad we started getting ready for dinner, we were on holiday after all! We went out on to our apartment balcony to take some photographs in the sunset. I was just about to step back inside when Michael grabbed my hand. I turned around and he was down on one knee holding a ring box .

Now I won’t reveal the exact details of what was said in the happiest moment of my life, but I will share that Michael decided to propose that day rather than waiting, as he wanted me to know that he was going to be there with me wherever I was in the world from that moment on ❤️.

I of course accepted his proposal and there was lots of hugging and crying. By the time we had rung around to tell our family the news (lots more crying) it was very late at night and we were starving!

We managed to find one restaurant that was open- they didn’t have champagne so we had cocktails. The menu was small and they even got my order wrong but I couldn’t have cared less… I was the happiest girl in the world!

A year and a half later we are living in our second home together having moved away and moved home… there is 6 months to go until we wedding and we can’t wait!!! Next on the wedding to do list … get the wedding rings!”
