TUDOR BLACK BAY FIFTY-EIGHT “NAVY BLUE” AWARDED AT THE 2020 GRAND PRIX D’HORLOGERIE DE GENÈVE

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève awards began in 2001 to celebrate the craftsmanship of watchmaking. The annual awards ceremony is designed to reward the contemporary creativity and innovation of horologists from around the globe.  Since the awards launched they have gained followers worldwide and are now a firm date in the watch industry calendar.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions the awards looked a little different this year. Hosted on 12th November 2020, with just the winners present, the empty seats of the auditorium which are usually filled with excited guests and nominees were instead filled with rows of regal red balloons. TUDOR’s Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” was awarded the “Challenge” Prize at the 2020 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, making it the sixth award TUDOR has received in its eight years of participating.

2020 NEW RELEASE: The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue“.

In 1969, TUDOR introduced a divers’ watch with a blue dial and bezel. The other sports watches in the collection were also soon attired in blue, immediately creating a lasting aesthetic hallmark known as “TUDOR Blue”. Adopted by the French navy for its TUDOR divers’ watches during the 1970s, this livery became part of the collective imagination. The newly launched Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” follows in this tradition with its navy blue dial and bezel insert.

The Black Bay Fifty-Eight model was originally launched at Baselworld in 2018 and has become a sought after favourite for its vintage inspired style and compact slim design. 

Created in steel the 39mm case features a polished and satin finish, iconic TUDOR snowflake hands and large winding crown.  Built for slim wrists and vintage enthusiasts alike the Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” features all the much loved components of the Black Bay Fifty-Eight but with a striking navy blue finish.

Waterproof to 200m and powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5402 in-house TUDOR movement the watch is designed to ensure robustness, longevity and reliability. Also proven with its handy power reserve of up to 70 hours. 

The new look Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” is available in three different strap options: polished stainless steel bracelet, blue fabric strap or blue soft touch strap.
