Sell Your Watch To Us
21st May 2023
Here at Winsor Bishop, we understand that there are multiple reasons why you might want to sell one of your watches. Our aim is very simple – to pay a fair price for a fair watch, operating with the same honesty and integrity we have at every level of our business.
On Sunday 21st May our Pre-Owned Watch Manager, Chris Haynes, alongside one of our in-house watchmakers, will be looking to value and buy your wristwatch. Chris will consider any luxury watch; from Rolex to Patek Philippe, from Omega to TAG Heuer. If you are considering selling one, or even multiple models, we would encourage you to make a free, no-obligation appointment.
Our showroom can’t promise to offer to purchase every watch, but we will gladly take the time to inspect and give advice on each watch presented to us. For further information, or to book an appointment, please kindly complete the form below or contact our showroom on 01603 620 638.
You may already be familiar with the terms “full set” or “box and papers.” To collectors, a watch is at its most valuable when it is offered with its original presentation box, warranty documentation, instruction manual and any accompanying accessories that would have originally come with the watch.
This is ideal, and, typically speaking, a watch with a “full set” can sell for as much as 15-20% higher than a watch with no accompanying documentation. Our showrooms will always make a fair bid for watches without paperwork or boxes, we have our own comprehensive checks to ensure authenticity.
Our team are only looking for watches which are totally original. Unfortunately, we would not be able to make an offer on watches where they have been modified from the manufacturer’s original specifications, common examples would be an aftermarket dial or bezel.
During your appointment, Chris will inspect your watch to better understand its condition, its accompanying documentation and any repair or service work that the watch may need. This inspection usually takes between 10-15 minutes.
Following the inspection, Chris will make you an offer to purchase your wristwatch. If you are happy with this offering, we proceed to our final step.
To complete the purchase, we require a contract to be signed. This is a declaration from you that you are the legal owner of the timepiece, there are no outstanding charges (e.g. finance agreements) against the watch and that you are over 18 years of age. If all of this is in order and the contract is signed, we aim to pay the agreed amount by direct bank transfer on the same day.
