Our Gold statement this Autumn, isn’t just about latest gold jewellery… instead it’s in aid of support for EACH children’s charity and its ongoing appeal for ‘the nook’ hospice. We’re just pleased as punch to announce that our efforts have been rewarded with a special Gold Award.

Raising Money For The Nook

Back in 2015, Winsor Bishop pledged to embark on a journey alongside children’s charity EACH and other local businesses – with the support of Charity patron, the royal Duchess of Cambridge – to raise money and awareness for ‘the nook’; and to help reach their target of £10 million.

The amazing Norfolk-based project to support and enrich the lives and families of children needing care towards the end of life, hasn’t been without its hurdles. The biggest of which was due to stringent changes being made to building regulations.

Our MD, Sophie Fulford commented: “It has been a long journey for the EACH team due to hurdles out of their control, however, it’s definitely been worth it so far. The hospice is surpassing expectations and will truly add a new dimension of care and love to families and children dealing with the emotional rollercoaster of loss.”

Sophie added: “We’re extremely proud to say that we have been honoured with EACH’s Gold Award for our support during the project. As just a vision at the time, now a few years on ‘the nook’ has nearly arrived and will soon be open to support families in our local community. We had the honour of being invited to take a look at the new hospice for those in need of care. It was amazing to see just how much has been achieved through the generosity of everyone involved.”

The Nook Appeal

Situated on a five-acre site in the parish of Framingham Earl, just outside Norwich, the new hospice when open, will enable EACH to provide more families overnight accommodation, support groups and specialist activities as well as improve medical facilities vital for the comfort and care of the children.

Despite the impressive success of ‘The nook’ appeal, EACH still needs to hit its target to complete the final elements of fitting out the interior. Amazingly, the £10 million goal for fundraising, is nearly in its grasp, with the current total standing at £9.2 million; an amount which has become achievable due to the local community and local business support the appeal has received. But, there’s still a big chunk of cash needed to reach the charity’s end goal. A goal to improve how dying children in Norfolk spend their final days.
