Winsor Bishop is delighted to announce that it has been chosen as the home of the Tudor watches in Norwich. The brand, which re-launches in the UK market on 19th September, is the perfect complement Winsor Bishop’s portfolio of watch brands, one of the finest in the country.
The Tudor brand dates its history back to 1926 when the initial registration was made on behalf of the German watchmaker Hans Wilsdorf, founder of ROLEX. Today Tudor is the only sub-brand within the ROLEX group, and as such benefits from its association with one of the most valuable names in the watches, if not one of the most valuable brands overall.
“For some years now I have been considering the idea of making a watch that our agents could sell a more modest price than our Rolex watches, and yet one that would attain the standards of dependability for which Rolex are famous. I decided to form a separate company, with the object of making and marketing this new watch. It is called the Tudor Watch Company.” Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex, on the launch of the Tudor Oyster Price watch in 1952
The Tudor brand is famous in its own right, with decades of history and a passionate customer base. The watches, including many collectible pieces from more than fifty years of watchmaking, are assembled to the same exacting standards quality control standards as ROLEX timepieces, with the only difference being that while ROLEX watches contain only in house movements and components, the Tudor range includes adapted mechanical Swiss ETA movements.
The two brands sit side-by-side, with Tudor offering a less expensive product range, albeit high quality alternative to Rolex. The Tudor range is split between more contemporary models and ‘Heritage’ pieces that recognise the brands history. The Heritage Black Bay, Style and Heritage Ranger offer classic style and tradition, while the Grantour and Fastrider mark Tudor’s passion for on motor sports.
As the launch date gets closer we will profile the new models more closely, with the watches available to view and purchase at Winsor Bishop from 19th September.
To celebrate the launch Winsor Bishop is hosting an exclusive showcase event on Saturday 27th September between 10am-4pm. To register your interest in attending please email [email protected] including your name, address and telephone number.
